These visual communication cards are perfect for children who struggle with understanding language, transitions, routine changes, and communicating. Initially made for my minimally verbal son with autism, these cards are also great for kids with speech delays or who just need a visual to help them understand what's happening. This is a digital download of 90 cards containing visuals for various routines, activities, and common places that families travel to.
The cards are a digital download, in the form of a printable PDF, no physical product is being shipped to you.
To use these cards, you print them out, show the needed card to your child while also verbally telling them what is happening, and then you make it happen! While your child may not immediately connect these generic images to a specific routine, activity, or place - over time they will start to connect the visual with the action. Like all forms of AAC, both low-tech and high-tech, it can take time and consistency to implement a new communication method.
These cards are best printed on 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock and laminated for durability. The cards themselves are approximately 3 x 3 inches.
They can be used on visuals such as schedules or routines, carried around on a binder ring, or used in a variety of ways. They are perfect for use in homes and in classrooms - for parents, caregivers, and teachers alike.
Cards are designed by a neurodivergent mother of a minimally verbal autistic child in Omaha, Nebraska.
These cards are for personal use only. They are not to be sold, resold, or used for commercial purposes.
