These visual communication cards are perfect for children who struggle with understanding language, transitions, routine changes, and communicating. Initially made for my nonverbal son with autism, these cards are also great for kids with speech delays or who just need a visual to help them understand what's happening. This is a pack of cards focused on different emotions and feelings for those who struggle to express these things.
The full-size cards are printed on laminated 4 x 6 inch photos and are gathered on a binder ring to keep them together. The mini cards are printed as 2 x 3 inch photos, laminated in 2.32 x 3.7 inch business card pouches. You can attach a lanyard to make carrying them around a breeze! To use these, you flip to the card you need, show it to your child while also verbally telling them what is happening, and then make it happen. While your child may not immediately connect these generic images to a specific routine or place they know - over time they will connect the visual with the action. Like all AAC devices, both low-tech like these cards and high-tech, it can take time and consistency to implement a new communication method.
Included are 16 visual communication cards on a binder ring.
Cards included are: Happy, Sad, Mad, Excited, Confused, Curious, Bored, Scared, Sorry, Tired, Sick, Hurt, Hot, Cold, Hungry, and Thirsty
